2027: Joy Has Come, I’m Here to Serve—Prince Baiyewuwon to Oyo Residents

In a move to progressively reposition Oyo State, Prince Kayode Oyetunde Bayewuwon, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has unveiled his bid to serve the good people of the pacesetter state come 2027.

At a media parley held in Ibadan, Prince Bayewuwon emphasised his readiness to offer genuine leadership capable of bringing much-needed 21st-century transformation to the state.

Born on October 28, 1972, in Lagos State to Gbemisoye Oyetunde and Mary Olubisi Oyetunde, Prince Bayewuwon hails from the Bayewuwon royal family of Ogbomosho, Oyo State. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong educational background, including a National Diploma in Mathematics and Statistics from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, and a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo.

Recalling his track record of service, Prince Bayewuwon’s passion for philanthropy and politics dates back to his early years. He started his political journey in the second republic at the age of 7 and later contested for a councillorship position in Lagos between the ages of 19 and 21. His political ideology is inspired by the philosophy of the late Sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, which emphasises people-centred politics and democratic governance.

Through his charity foundation, Prince Bayewuwon has impacted lives positively in Oyo State, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. He has constructed borehole waters, renovated primary healthcare centres, and shared fertilisers with farmers to enhance agricultural productivity. These humanitarian services have earned him recognition and encouragement from the people to seek political office.
