2027: Love for Oyo North, People Drives My Decision to Contest – Ogunesan

A chieftainess of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Head of Service in Oyo State, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, has hinted that her interest in contesting for the Oyo North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is premised on her unalloyed love for the Senatorial District and zeal to serve people.

This was contained in a separate interview Ogunesan granted at the end of the Oke Ogun zone APC meeting held at Saki and the Oyo North APC Senatorial District meeting held at Iseyin recently.

Ogunesan reaffirmed that her decision was born out of her deep love for the people of Oyo North Senatorial District, a sincere resolve to provide transformative representation, and a vision to uplift the 13 Local Government Areas of our District.

In Ogunesan’s words, she said,“Oyo North is a land of immense potential, rich in agriculture, culture, and human capital. Yet, we face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to quality education, and the need for economic empowerment. My ambition is to champion innovation, legislation and initiatives that will address these issues head-on, including sponsoring bills for educational reform, among others, and facilitating grants for small-scale enterprises to empower our market men and women. Drawing from my experience as a former Head of Service in the state, I am prepared to deliver first-class representation that prioritises the welfare of our people.

Ogunesan further appreciated the efforts of the party leaders and members towards ensuring no division in the party at all levels and prayed for continued oneness of the party.

Ogunesan used the fora to appeal to the good people of the Senatorial District, party leaders, and her supporters to join her in the journey to the red chamber with a view to collectively ensuring that Oyo North takes its rightful place as a beacon of development in the state and Nigeria.
