Condolences: Ayo Karim Mourns Lekan Are, Says Oyo Lost a Genuine Patriot
Oyo State APC 2019 Governorship Aspirant, Ayodeji Ismail Karim has described death of an Elder Statesman, Dr Lekan Are as a colossal loss of Genuine Patriot.
Dr Are, died at the University College Hospital
( UCH), Ibadan at the age of 86 in the early hours of Saturday, he was the founder of Kakanfo Inn.
Ayo Karim, who is a closed friend of the departed icon’s son, said in a condolence statement that not only in Oyo state but, Nigeria at large, we have lost ” a genuine patriot” in Dr Are.

As pioneer Chairman of Ogun-Osun River Basin, he demonstrated competency, integrity and passion, a virtue that remains reference in public administration in Nigeria.
His death is a personal loss to me as he was a father figure and esteemed mentor to me .
We have taken solace in the word of Almighty God that death is inevitable, Karim said.
Karim prayed for the immediate family, friends, associates left behind and the departed soul.
