Eid-el-Kabir: Senator Yunus Akintunde Felicitates Muslims, Urges Prayers, Kindness

The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration. He urged Muslims to use the festive period to intensify prayers for the nation and extend love and benevolence to humanity in line with the teachings of Islam.
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Kunle Olatunji, Senator Akintunde described the celebration as a profound reminder of Allah’s love for mankind and the importance of piety, sacrifice, and compassion as espoused in the Holy Qur’an.
“I rejoice with all our brothers and sisters in the Islamic faith as we mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. I pray that the months ahead bring abundant mercy and blessings from Almighty Allah,” the senator said.

Akintunde emphasised that the true essence of Eid lies in devotion through prayers (Du’a) and acts of benevolence toward fellow human beings—both of which are fundamental components of Islamic worship.

“When we are committed to regular supplication and extend genuine kindness to others, we fulfil not only Allah’s expectations but also our duties to humanity. These are at the heart of our faith, and the rest of our religious obligations build on this spiritual foundation,” he noted.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Senator Akintunde called for sustained prayers for Nigeria, stressing that collective spiritual efforts and responsible citizenship are essential for national progress.
“Our nation, at this defining moment, requires the constant prayers and support of both the leadership and the people. The journey to national transformation demands shared sacrifice, unity of purpose, and sincere commitment.”
Akintunde further appreciated the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a visionary and intentional leader whose reform agenda is already showing signs of positive impact.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated focused and courageous leadership. Despite initial challenges, the reforms being implemented are necessary and are beginning to yield encouraging results. Nigerians have shown remarkable patience and resilience, and we must stay hopeful as the government rolls out further interventions and palliatives to ease burdens.
Reaffirming his commitment as a federal lawmaker, Senator Akintunde assured his constituents and Nigerians at large of the National Assembly’s continued collaboration with other arms of government to deliver quality governance.
“As representatives of the people, we are fully committed to supporting policies that promote economic recovery and national prosperity. We will continue to uphold the mandate entrusted to us by the electorate.
“Once again, I wish every Muslim and all Nigerians Barka de Sallah. May the blessings of this sacred season reach every member of the Ummah and inspire renewed hope, peace, and progress across our nation.” Akintunde submitted.
