May Day: Senator Buhari Hails Workers, Urges Good Employee Welfare Packages

As workers in Nigeria joined their colleagues across the world to celebrate May Day 2025, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai of Oyo North has felicitated with the labour. He urged employers to encourage them more for absolute productivity.
Senator Buhari, in a congratulatory message to labour organisations in Oyo State in a release made available to journalists earlier today, identified labour as the heart of any government or institution.

According to him, labour in Nigeria, Oyo State and Oyo North can be more productive and diligent only if a more robust system wherein better welfare packages are made available, especially in appreciation of their contributions to the growth and development of the country.

Buhari lauded Nigerian workers for being a dependable pillar towards the sustenance of the current democracy while he charged labour employers to do more in order to make the country alluring for the young and talented employees to stay at home and reduce the unnecessary migration to a foreign land for their daily bread.
Senator Buhari gave hope to Nigerians while declaring that the migration of the labour class to other countries in the world will be counterproductive in the long run.
“As a legislator, I and my colleagues in the National Assembly shall continue to be the mouthpieces of labour and other classes of people in the government so that the overall interest of having a better labour system in the country can be achieved,” Senator Buhari said.
