May Sowore’s Pains Last Forever – NANS Carpets AAC 2023 Presidential Candidate

The attention of the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has been drawn to a circulating video wherein Omoyele Sowore in his characteristically pedestrian and slanderous disposition, vomited his usual tissue of lies, brazen blackmail, and kindergarten sarcasm. In the said footage, he went as far as wagering his miserable life to assert that the current leadership of NANS comprises individuals who are not bonafide students.
Let it be categorically stated that Sowore’s remarks are not only contemptible and pitiably hollow, but they are an attestation to how far a drowning man will grasp at straws to revive a non-existent relevance. That a man who once basked in the glory of student activism has now reduced himself to a purveyor of falsehoods and a merchant of divisive propaganda is not only shameful but tragic.
Omoyele Sowore and his discredited platform, Sahara Reporters, have, over time, demonstrated a complete and utter disdain for the fundamental ethics of journalism. Their publication style borne out of vendetta, is devoid of objectivity, and is colored by a relentless pursuit of attention and personal gratification. Time and again, they have chosen sensationalism over substance, fiction over facts, and innuendos over investigative accuracy. They have weaponised journalism and reduced their platform to a contrived marketplace for scandalous and unverified content.

We are, however, offering them one last opportunity to rescue their dying integrity, if any fragment of it still exists. Sowore is hereby directed to visit the respective institutions and academic departments of the present leadership of NANS. The names and portfolios of all national leaders of NANS are publicly accessible and will accompany this statement. Let him conduct due diligence. Let him verify. Let him prove, if he can, that he is capable of basic investigative journalism beyond the narrow borders of his fantasy and frustration.

Ordinarily, a figure as erratic, inconsistent, and ideologically bankrupt as Sowore wouldn’t warrant a modicum of attention from any serious-minded body. But for the sake of public clarity and in the interest of historical accuracy, it is imperative that we expose the hollow echo of a man who now dances naked in the market square, thinking it is still a revolution.
Let it be known that the crux of Sowore’s animosity toward the present NANS leadership is rooted in our unapologetic dissociation from his illusory and ill-fated revolution, a faux movement, birthed by bitterness and fueled by delusion. We refused to be pawns in his circus of desperation. We refused to endorse a revolution that is neither people-driven nor purpose-driven. Since that principled decision, his disillusionment has multiplied, and his pain has deepened. And may that pain, borne of denial and irrelevance, linger with him forever.
Sowore is not a revolutionary, he is not a patriot. He is a political minion, teleguided by his equally bitter paymasters to derail progress and discredit purposeful leadership. He is a shadow of what once was, now reduced to a desperate heckler with no script, no compass, and no cause.
We, therefore, call on the general public, media houses, student bodies, and institutions across Nigeria to discountenance Sowore’s shenanigans. His antics are a cocktail of self-pity, irrelevance, and hallucination. His vitriol is not driven by truth, but by the twisted desires of a man who cannot reconcile with the reality that NANS has moved beyond his stale theatrics.
His recent claim is nothing but a sensationally empty assertion, a fabrication that only confirms what we have always known: Sowore is a mediocre masquerading as a messiah.
May his pain — chronic, incurable, and richly deserved last forever.
