OYO: Power Minister, Bayo Adelabu Donates Mini Grid to Alayande University

In a significant development, the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, has donated a mini grid to the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education in Oyo State. This initiative is part of the federal government’s commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply to critical government establishments across Nigeria.

The donation was announced during a working visit by a representative team of Hon. Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi to the university. The team, which included Alhaji Daud Ademola Onipede, Alhaji Taofeek Lamidi, and Alhaji Fatai Oyedayo Akindele, among others, was welcomed by the university’s management team, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan.

According to Alhaji Fatai Oyedayo Akindele, the mini grid, with a capacity of 90 kW and at least 180 solar panels, will provide a reliable source of power to the university. This initiative is expected to boost the university’s operations and provide a conducive learning environment for its students.

The university’s management team expressed gratitude to Chief Bayo Adelabu and Hon. Prince Akeem Adeyemi for the donation, with the Vice Chancellor describing the visit as “the first of its kind since his assumption of office by a politician of Skimeh’s calibre.

This development is a testament to the federal government’s commitment to improving power supply in Nigeria, as highlighted by Chief Adebayo Adelabu in his efforts to ensure reliable and affordable power supply in Oyo State.
