It is highly commendable to note that we are having increasing voice and massive Northern support for 2023 Southern Presidency. It’s a triumph of reasoning over untenable excuses, it’s a triumph of underdogs over bullies.

We appreciate the support from another Prominent Northern Elder, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, for presidential zoning to the South in 2023 and we pray to God Almighty to grant all of us long life to witness 2023 and beyond in good health and prosperity.

We congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Executive Council on its landmark achievements over the last one year and urge it to redouble its efforts in line with the listed nine priority areas for improved service delivery.

The FEC approval of N14.92bn for payment of retirees will surely prolong the lives of our Senior Citizens and aid the circular flow of income in the economy; approval of N722b for the NDDC 8 forensic Auditors is the only way out to recover close to 100 billion of Naira looted at the Niger Delta Development Commission and that of metering of unmetered Houses will surely put an end to estimated billing by the electricity suppliers.

We are extremely glad with the handing over of the moribund MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, to Dangote Group of Companies, for renovation by the Hon Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, and the inauguration of Nigeria’s first Football House, in Ilorin, by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.

These two cardinal projects will, in no doubt, aid the Nigeria’s Sports development and provide massive employment for a huge number of youths in the Sports Industry.

We congratulate Mr Akinwunmi Adesina on his re – election for another 5 year term as President, Africa Development Bank (AfDB) after his turbulent experience occasioned by the allegations of corruption and bad governance which were brought to an end by the independent probe.

We also congratulate the newly appointed Nigerian born Canadian Minister of Justice and the Attorney General, Mr Kelechi Madu, alias Kaycee Madu, and Oyo – born Abdul – Rahman Buhari who won 2020 7up Harvard Business School Scholarship.

Many Happy Returns to our royal Nonagenarian, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Olasupo Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 @ 92; former Vice President Southwest, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and Secretary – General, Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, Comrade Olasunkanmi Ismal Lanleyin @ 50; Member House of Representatives representing Lagos Island Constituency II, Hon (Prince) Kayode Akiolu @ 36; and the Commissioner for Science and Technology in Lagos State, Olatunbosun Alake @ 28.

We mourn Captain Chika Ernest and 2 other crew members of Quorum Aviation who lost their lives during the light helicopter crash in Salvation Road, Opebi, Lagos, last Friday.

We commiserate with Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu of Lagos State, friends and Associates of the Coker family over the passing to glory of their Patriarch, Chief (Elder) Nathaniel Folarin Cooker, OON, the Bobagunwa of Igede – Ekiti, Baba Eto of Yorubaland and a Retired Pioneer Permanent Secretary of Lagos State.

May God Almighty rest all departed souls.

We pray for quick recovery of Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikateland, Lagos State and Adamawa State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Stephen Mamza, from corona virus disease.

Comrade Awa Bamiji ,
National Coordinator ,
