CONSENSUS POSITION AGAINST THE CONDUCT OF THE HOUSE OF REPS PRIMARY ELECTION IN OUR FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.
We, the undersigned, under the auspices of the Forum of House of Representatives aspirants in the Ibadan Northeast/Southeast Federal Constituency, hereby forward this petition to Your Excellency as our consensus position on the conduct of the party primaries in our federal constituency. We wish to unequivocally, state that we have resolved that the federal constituency primary election cannot proceed for the following these reasons:
The list of delegates that was brought to the venue/center is a manipulated delegate list which does not reflect true position of stakeholders’ manifest, upheld as compromise in previous harmonization process; for the derivation of an all encompassing and inclusive delegate list of all party’s stakeholders.
The election venue chosen for this primary exercise is a violent prone vicinity which is highly vulnerable to attack by miscreants and area boys who have besieged the venue hours before commencement of the exercise.
The security arrangement for the venue has been overpopulated by the unsolicited crowd and beehive of crooks and intimidating area boys.
The efforts of the joint security forces deployed to the election venue to douse the situation and effect a conducive environment was futile.
As at the time of the decision to write this letter, accreditation of delegates is yet to commence and as at past 6:00pm, accreditation of delegates is yet to be conducted not to talk of getting the election proper to commence.
It is on these grounds that we demand a total and immediate stop of the primary election today and seeking a postponement of the exercise to an agreed date pending consultation amongst all stakeholders.
While thanking you for this privilege to exercise our right of expression, we also assure Your Excellency of our best cooperation as soon as our complaints are addressed.
Thanks in anticipation of your kind intervention, and God bless.

Yours faithfully,

Hon. Semih Oladimeji Alao

Hon.(Mrs) Adebola Shakirat Adetunji

Hon. Ibrahim Olayode Iyiola.
