2023: Mogaji Samuel Kola Ajadi Heads to Court, Rejects “Purported” APC Primary Election’s Outcome of Ibadan Northwest, Southwest Federal Constituency
2023: Mogajíi Samuel Kola Ajadi Heads to Court, Rejects “Purported” APC Primary Election’s Outcome of Ibadan Northwest, Southwest Federal Constituency.
This newspaper, Africano Trumpeters can authoritatively report that the leading Member, House of Representatives(MHR) Hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), from Ibadan Northwest and Southwest Federal Constituency, Mogaji Samuel Kola Ajadi has approached law court and instituted a case against APC leadership, on the outcome of the “purported” party’s primaries, “assumed” to have taken place in the federal constituency.
According to the former Aide to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mogaji Ajadi, the electoral district’s primaries could not hold due to the alleged inconsistencies and irregularities, noted and raised by the majority of aspirants, but to their surprise, an online medium reported that one of them, aspirants, has won the primary election that has never taken place.
In his words,”On getting to the poll for the primary, we were told that our primary has been postponed, indefinitely. The following day to my surprise, I saw a news online that Hon Saheed Fijabi declared himself as a candidate of an election that was not conducted.
In a media chat with this newspaper, on Saturday, the former Oke’Badan LCDA Gaffer, Mogaji Ajadi stated that he is a core democrat and progressive who strongly detests imposition and cheating.”I’m a core democrat and progressive who strongly detests imposition and cheating. So, I will fight this cause to the logical conclusion, in order to strengthen internal democracy in our party, and uphold spirits and letters of our Electoral Acts.
“Unequivocally, I can clearly inform you that I’ve instituted a case against the APC leadership, because party’s leadership violated provisions of Electoral Acts that guide conduct of primaries.
“If the leadership of our great party, APC, at national level could make the lists of delegates available days before the primary election proper and presidential aspirants were able to see and interact with the delegates before presidential primary election exercise, please, how much more is making delegates’ list of Ibadan Northwest and Southwest Federal Constituency available before the ‘purported’ conduct of the primaries, that has not even taken place.
“Beauty of democracy is open and fair contest. So, I say total no to shenanigans that we’re witnessing in my federal constituency.
Ajadi reiterated that,”As I said earlier, presidential aspirants familiarised themelves with delegates. They interacted with them and they engaged them, before primaries. But in in Ibadan Northwest and Southwest Federal Constituency, our case was different. We didn’t know the delegates to sell our ideas and programmes for. No delegates list, no proper arrangements. Nothing nothing except imposition. Thus, this is rejected in totality.
“If they could see and interact with delegates across the country, please, what caused difficulty in making Ibadan Northwest and Southwest Federal Constituency delegates’ list available, days, before the assumed primaries. Therefore, I’m left with no option than to seek legal redress on the matters. I’ve approached law court on the issue, to fight imposition and manipulation. And this will also serve as deterrent to impostors and tyrants in politics.
Ajadi recalled that nationally,”the party was able to conduct a peaceful, credible and successful special convention because there was no imposition and aspirants were allowed to express their freewill and sell their ideas. So, I’m demanding for nothing except the replica of the fair, free and credible primaries in my federal constituency.”He emphasised.
