2023: OYHA Hopeful, ‘Ribadu’ Withdraws from Assembly Race, Gives Reasons, Thanks Supporters.
A front line Member, Oyo-State House of Assembly Hopeful, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), from Ibadan North Constituency-II, come 2023, Honourable Muyiwa Bhadmos popularly known as ‘Ribadu’ has stepped aside from the 2023 assembly contest.
This is revealed through the withdrawal letter dated May 12, 2022 and personally signed by Ribadu, and which was submitted, today, to the party’s Secretariat at Yemetu, in Ibadan North Local Government, Ibadan.
In the letter titled,”Withdrawal of Intent to Contest for The Membership of The Oyo State House Of Assembly”, Hon. Ribadu stated,”I, respectfully, write to formally notify you of my withdrawal to contest for the membership of the OYO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, IBADAN NORTH CONSTITUENCY 2 in the coming election scheduled to hold in February 2023.
Hon. Continued,”Ibadan North LGA is practically for me a passion to embrace, but the recent development in the party has proven that loyalty to the party is a fallacy as money-bagging has taken the order of the day.
“As hard as it is for me, my decision is based on thorough consultation in relation to my present official involvement with the office of the Vice President.
My withdrawal from this race is, however, predicated on my inability to combine my present official schedule with the contest.
“I, however, apologise to the leadership, all my supporters and friends in the party and beyond most especially members of Ward 7 for believing in me and going through all the troubles of securing this mandate, I feel ashamed to disappoint your expectations. Politics for me is not personal, but about the people.
“I am emboldened by the encouragement I have received from my fellow party members across the Local Government and I promise to continue to be my patriotic self and will never relent in my efforts to improve the party as within my ability.
“I will surely support any candidate who emerges from the primaries with every resource at my disposal as usual.
“I wish our great party, APC, big success in the forth-coming elections across board, from Presidency to House of Assembly. We will surely get there. Oyo State shall be great again. Thank you.” Hon. Muyiwa Bhadmos ‘Ribadu’ submitted.
