2023: “Ribadu”,The Distinguished Personality That Ibadan North Constituency-II Deserves !! By Afeez Bello.

Ibadan North Local Government Area is in Oyo state which is domiciled in the Southwestern geopolitical enclave of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are domiciled in the Bodija district of Ibadan.

The LGA is bordered by the Akinyele , Lagelu, Egbeda, Ibadan Northwest, Ibadan Northeast and Ido LGAs. Ibadan North LGA is an urban center and is made up of several districts and streets such as Bodija, Agodi, Oyelade crescent, Ladoke Akintola street, Oyo road, and Sango. The estimated population of Ibadan North LGA is around one million inhabitants or more and the vast majority of the areas’ dwellers are members of the Yoruba ethnic group. The Yoruba, English, Pidgin and Hausa languages are commonly spoken in the LGA while Christianity and Islam are the commonly practiced religions. It comprises of two Constituencies – Ibadan North Constituency 1 and 2. Notable landmarks in Ibadan North LGA include the University of Ibadan and the University College Hospital, the Premier Hotel, The Polytechnic Ibadan, National Open University, Aerodrome GRA, Bodija Market among others, which these are all situated in Ibadan North Constituency-II.

Also, Ibadan North LGA hosts a number of industries such as manufacturing and agro processing industries. A number of Banks, hotels, restaurants, relaxation spots and institutions can be found in Ibadan North. Trade also booms in the area with the LGA hosting a number of markets such as the Bodija market where the residents of the LGA go to sell and buy a range of commodities. Other important economic enterprises undertaken by the residents of Ibadan North LGA include textile weaving and dyeing, woodwork, and traditional medicine.

Meanwhile, astonished, interesting and vast history of Ibadan North which mostly entrenched in Ibadan North Constituency-II is a major factor that call for quality and effective representation in Oyo State House of Assembly since the inception of Fourth Republic but the political culture and tradition in the area has been a major factor that inhibit such representation.

Since poor and and horrible representation has been ravaging Ibadan North State Constituency-II, since 2019, it has called for immediate attention to rescue the constituency from substandard representation which has been a bane of the constituency.

When we are talking of pro-people and adequate representation which Ibadan North Constituency-II deserves through Competency, Experience, Capability, Prominent background such as Social and Political and the likes, we are chanting no other name other than that of the political bigwig and Media Magnate in Oyo State, Honourable Olumuyiwa Bhadmos, popularly known as Ribadu.

Ribadu is bestowed with vast political and social experiences which qualify him to represent his people in the Oyo State House of Assembly, come 2023.

Aside his political and social experiences, Ribadu is the most competent since he can never be a bench warmer in the Lawmaking House due to the fact that he is very intelligent, articulate and wise, in Nature. It is important to note that Muyiwa Bhadmos is the Oyo State Coordinator for Progressive Presidential Aspirants in Oyo State from 2011 to 2019.

The influence of Ribadu in the Oyo State House of Assembly cannot and should not be underestimated due to the fact that, if elected, he will propose so many bills that will change the lives of the people in Oyo State, positively, and he will bring about indispensable socio economic developments to Ibadan North Constituency-II and beyond.

Moreover, the influential strength and professional prowess of Ribadu will bring about facilitation of so many developmental and substantial projects to his constituency and Oyo State at large.

Also, it is worthy of note that Honourable Muyiwa Bhadmos is the best among the current aspirants which Ibadan North Constituency-II deserves, and APC Chieftains and Members should take cognizance of this, in order to elect or select the best for the Constituency-II. So, help us God.
