2023: Tinubu Meets Oyo APC Delegates, Fosters Unity Among Party Faithful.
All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and frontline Presidential Aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has today met with the national delegates of the party from Oyo State.
Tinubu, who was accompanied by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Sen. Tanko Al-Makura; Sen Tokunbo Abiru; former Minister of Communications, Bayo Shittu,was received at the airport by the party’s governorship candidate, Sen. Teslim Folarin.
Tinubu, who addressed 99 Oyo state party delegates in Ibadan, told Folarin that the governorship election is not a child’s play, hence, the need to visit the aggrieved party leaders’ houses, even at midnight, to reconcile and forge unity ahead of general elections.
Tinubu who said that he will still come to Oyo State to meet the party members reiterated that Folarin should make peace with other aspirants of APC to win the election. He explained that APC cannot win the election with a divided house.
“I want to tell you this; those of you having bickering amongst you must all come together and ensure it all ends. Let the crisis end immediately or you all lose the election,” he said.
“Let it all end. I shall return to Oyo State because there’s no time for extensive discussion today. The crisis between the two factions must be sorted out.
He added,“Do you want governor? You should all speak up one more time. We have heard and accepted your choice, may God answer our prayers.
“I came here to advertise myself and the candidates; Folarin’s election is still ahead so I shall return to raise his hand.
“However before I return, Folarin must work seriously to mend the entire broken fence. He must seek out elders to help him implore those who contested the ticket with him so all factions could be brought together as one family.
“The party is divided into two; he must work to unite all aggrieved. We shall support him if he could be humble, pray and beg all concerned.”
Others at the meeting were Sen. Kassim Shettima; Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa, Sen. Soji Akanbi; Prince Dayo Adeyeye; Hon. Bosun Oladele; Idris Abiola-Ajimobi; Olamiju Alao-Akala; Dapo Lam-Adesina; Isaac Omodewu; state exceutives of the party, among others.
