2023: Tinubu Vanguard Holds Zonal Conference on “Payback Time for Asiwaju Tinubu” in Ibadan.
A frontline sociopolitical organization rooting for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria, Tinubu Vanguard, has, today, Monday, held Southwest Zonal Conference on “Payback Time for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Standardbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu” in Ibadan.
Opening prayer was said by Alh. Yusuf Fatai.
While giving his opening remarks, the Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Dr Amusa Razak lauded the leaderships and members of the organization for the job well done.
In his words, Dr Amusa said,”All protocols are duly observed. Firstly, I salute all members of our this great Forum, Tinubu Vanguard and I also greet all our invited guests. You’re all welcome. As we all know, we’re here to celebrate our presidential flagbearer’s victory and nomination of Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate. Also, we’re happy for those who stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential primaries of our great party and we salute their courage. Yes, we’ve been doing it together and together, we shall coast him victory as the campaign officially commences.
“We’re here to also wish us all well and victorious outings. Tinubu Vanguard is a frontline social political group and we’re strongly rooting for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima. Our mobilisation strengths cut across all geo-political zones, states and LGA’s, and we’ll not relent until Asiwaju Tinubu is elected as Nigerian president, come 2023. So help us God.
Keynote address was delivered by the Director General (DG) of Tinubu Vanguard, Ambassador (Dr) Johny Benjamin, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Kamil Bengaji. In his words,”In the name of Allah. The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful. It’s is great honour to be here as Deputy Director General representing my Director General (DG).
“Protocol. Congratulations to all us in the Tinubu Vanguard Family, all lovers and supporters of our Principal, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he emerged the Standard Bearer of our great party the APC via a landslide victory at the Presidential Primary Election, and his Vice Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima whose choice was a very well informed decision that unsettles the opposition, owing to his credibility and pragmatic leadership qualities. I’m even more delighted to be here in person to witness this epoch making occasion, The Southwest Zonal Conference on Payback time for Asiwaju. We have a date with history as we volunteer to take this bold step to effect a remarkable change in our dear country Nigeria. Our Principal, who is the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and his Vice, remain the best candidates to take over the mantle of leadership, Come 2023. The Tinubu and Shettima combination is a good product that doesn’t need any advertisement as they have contributed greatly to the growth and development of this country. They are consummate democrats and the leaders of all the progressives who fought amongst others to bring about the democratic rule Nigeria is enjoying today. They have done a lot for Nigeria and
Nigerians irrespective of tribes and religion. They have built bridges across the length and breadth of the country. Tinubu Vanguard is a collection of progressive minded Nigerians at home
and in the Diasporas, who believe in the character and person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His leadership style and quality is one that is needed most at this time when we are faced with numerous security and economic challenges.
The present administration under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is laying the foundation for a new Nigeria with the various projects on infrastructure and human capital development. Asiwaju was instrumental in playing key roles on the election and re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari. He has also demonstrated support for the success of this administration which is prominently featured in his consistent unbiased public statements on all national issues bothering on the stability and development of the country.
Today we are coming together at the instance of Tinubu Vanguard to launch a campaign for our Principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He never said he wants to be president, as at the time we wanted him to be. Thank God he listened to yearnings and aspirations of our people and did not only present himself, but has also won the party flag as the flag bearer. He has always supported others to lead, so we also want him to take the lead now, hence it is PAYBACK TIMES. He has capacity, he is qualified, he is knowledgeable, he is a strategist, and
he has the technical knowhow. He knows the world and the world also knows him. His political sagacity is second to none. We have the dividends of democracy in Nigeria.
We have no doubt or whatsoever that he can, and will deliver. Tinubu Vanguard is a flagship support group for Asiwaju. We are very well grounded in the scheme of things. Our membership is present in the 774 Local Government Areas, the 36 States and the FCT. Three major national organizations have also joined us in collaboration with their total structures. The first one is the National Association of Keke/Okada Owners and Riders with over 7million members. The second one is the National Association of Women Cooperatives with over 2million members. And the third one is the National Association of Builders and Artisans with over 6milion members across the country, among other numerous groups who have
also joined us. This has further boosted our already robust membership strength to over 20million. We also have representatives of some National Labour and Trade Unions, such as The Nigerian
Labour Congress(NLC), Student Union Governments(SUG’s), Nigeria Medical Association(NMA) among others as directors in Tinubu Vanguard. Discussions of collaboration with these bodies have already reached advanced stages. Therefore, this grand standing strength is a big boost and as such, brought about us full recognition, thereby making us the largest support Group for
Tinubu and Shettima, which will eventually translate into actual votes, assuring victory for the duo, come 2023. It is payback time for Asiwaju. He has answered the clarion call and has presented himself to be elected and subsequently take over as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, That way, the works of the current administration will be consolidated and built upon to bring about the new Nigeria of our dream.
I urge all the leaders and members of Tinubu Vanguard of the southwest extraction, to hit the
ground running after this conference, as the task ahead is enormous. We cannot do this alone. It will be a collective venture. So at some points, there will be more collaboration, alignments and so
on. Be ready to make sacrifices when necessary. By the grace of the Almighty God, it shall be a success and we all shall live to witness a Tinubu Presidency come 2023. While commenting, the Special Guest of Honour, Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja of Nigeria, represented by former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo-State, Hon.(Dr) Lekan Adeyemo maintained that Asiwaju Tinubu is the best man for the job and the only capacious helmsman that this moment calls for.
In Hon. Adeyemo’s words,”Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Asiwaju of Lagos, the Jagaban Borgu is a manager of men and resources, a committed pro-democracy activist, an astute administrator, a progressive to the core, bridge builder and an apostle of National unity. As Lagos State Governor, he presided over and administration that was a model between 1999-2007. His years in Lagos were remarkable for progress. He jacked up the internally Generated Revenue IGR from N600,000 monthly to billions. Today, Lagos State can boast of over 33 billion monthly. The corrollary of this is that the State can survive without the Federal Allocation. He created additional 37 Local Council Development Areas(LCDA’s) based on popular demand. When the allocation to the Councils were seized by Obasanjo Federal Government, his team
of experts embarked on creative financial engineering that made the councils to survive the Federal onslaught. What have become inspiring about Sen. Tinubu are his unrelenting spirit, audacity of hope, mobilisation prowess, organisation acumen, boldness and bravery, determination to succeed in accomplishing difficult tasks, discipline of mind and power of ideas, focus and foresight. The great attribute of this great man is his ability to discover and mobilise Talents for development. Those he has groomed for leadership roles have become Vice President, Governors, Ministers, Legislators and Heads of lofty places. He has also raised a crop of disciples and competent successors who have and are building on the unprecedented progress in Lagos State. The finest moment was 2015 when he mobilised the South West to participate in mainstream politics leading to a strategic partnership that produced Gen. Muhmmad Buhari as President.
Not only did his efforts along with his Compatriots across the six zones herald the miracle of political change that year, they also laid the template for continuity and consolidation in 2019. Finally, distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, let our consensus be that this great man still has a lot to contribute to National greatness.
Nigerians must not make the mistake they made on Chief Obafemi Awolowo. If the sage was allowed to rule this country even for a term, we will not be where we are today. Vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria in next year election and the miracle that is happening in Lagos will happen throughout Nigeria. I thank you.” Hon. Dr Lekan Adeyemo submitted.
In his remarks, the National Patron, Hon. Femi Afikuyomi hailed Tinubu Vanguard as one of the strongest BAT’s Support Groups and he appreciated people in attendance.”I thank everyone here present. Particularly, I’m grateful to all state coordinators in the zone. Though, I appreciate the efforts put together to actualise this historic event but I’m glad to say this that we’ll rearrange it, to make it more colourful and it will be done in Lagos. I promise, I will sponsor the rearranged program. Southwest is Bola Tinubu zone. We’ll redo it in Lagos. It’s going to be redone. Once again, I thank you all, for coming and victory is ours.”He said.
