2023: You’re Upright, Tenacious, Detribalized – Youth Okay, Throw Weight Behind Ibikunle Amosun As Next Nigerian President.
Teeming Nigerian youths, under the aegis of Southwest Youth Agenda, have unanimously declared their unalloyed support and unflinching loyalty to former Governor of Ogun-State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as their preferred presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), and also as the next president of Nigeria, come 2023.
The youth, in their multitude, made this declaration today at a solidarity press conference held at NUJ Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan, the political headquarters of Yoruba land.
The assemblage of southwest youths, under the coordinatorship of Comrade Olujimi Bamgboye stated that,”We wish to assure Senator Ibikunle Amosun of our unalloyed support. His track records and laudable achievements are enough to make him a good president that Nigeria deserves.
“Southwest Youth Agenda is a composition of vibrant youths from various walks of life, and we have members from the business community, international community, academics, youth parliaments, activism world and other fields of endeavours, doing wonderfully well in their chosen careers”,Bamgboye stated.
“We have deemed it necessary to join well meaning Nigerians who are waiting for Senator Ibikunle Amosun to hit the ground running”, he reiterated.
“Already, we have a reliable information that he will soon declare”, he revealed.
Bamgboye continued,”Youths being a major stakeholder in the Nigerian Project, we are concerned about the quality of leadership that will emerge in 2023, because the progress of a country is determined by the qualities of its leadership and commitment.
“Our choice in throwing our support behind Amosun is based on his tenacity, uprightness, detribalised personality and experience, both as a senator and former governor of Ogun state, who changed the fortune of the state, positively. During his tenure, he tackled the problem of insecurity in the state which made Ogun state the most secured state for investors and he was honoured as the most security-conscious governor, then.
“We strongly believe that he has the capacity to replicate all these, more efficiently, if given the opportunity to lead this great country. For a country like Nigeria, we need a unifier in which Amosun represents. He understands and respects religious and ethnic diversities.
“Since our interest is to have the best candidate, and having carefully considered the antecedents and past records of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in governance, it is with great pride and tremendous enthusiasm that Southwest Youth Agenda as a body, offer our wholehearted endorsement and support for Senator Ibikunle Amosun as the flag bearer of the APC, and to become the next President of Nigeria.
“We all know the security threat he acquired as governor in Ogun state and the peace the state was enjoying till he was handing over, the mantle of leadership.
“We also call on all APC delegates to support Amosun in his aspiration to lead this country forward, because we are sure that he will replicate his security and other sectoral achievements, made in Ogun state then, in Nigeria as a whole, hence, from 2023.
“As it concerns the purchase of his aspiration form, with our strength, in numbers we are assuring the members of the public that we will contribute his form fee by the grace of God.
“Our members are already anxious to start donating but we are waiting for his declaration of interest before we swing into action.
“Also to the leadership of the APC, it is important for us to note that if Senator Amosun becomes the flag bearer of the party, it is best said that 50% of the campaign workload has been done as we will contact our counterparts in other regions of the country and together we shall work assiduously to ensure his victory”, Bamgboye emphasized.
