2027: Bunvic Unveils Tinubu Support Group in Iresapa, Rallies Grassroots

The Chairman of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Honourable Segun Odebunmi, popularly known as Bunvic, has launched the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) as part of efforts to galvanise grassroots backing for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The unveiling took place on Tuesday during an enlarged meeting of loyal members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iresapa, Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State. The gathering drew party stakeholders, ward leaders and supporters from across the council.
Speaking at the event, Odebunmi praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as bold and necessary steps aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy. He referenced key policies such as the removal of fuel subsidy, efforts to stabilise the foreign exchange market, measures to reduce food prices, the introduction of the student loan scheme, and ongoing initiatives to strengthen security nationwide.

According to him, the decisions taken by the President, though difficult, were made in the best interest of the country. He stressed that a second term would allow Tinubu to consolidate on the reforms and deliver lasting benefits to Nigerians.

Odebunmi urged party members and supporters to intensify mobilisation at the grassroots level, calling on them to return to their polling units, wards and local governments to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the next general elections. He emphasised unity, loyalty and dedication as key ingredients for success at the polls.
The former Chairman of the House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values also encouraged members to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda and to work closely with party leadership in preparation for upcoming party congresses.
A major highlight of the meeting was the defection of hundreds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in the council area. The defectors, led by Olukunle Oloyede, cited Odebunmi’s leadership and performance as their motivation for joining the ruling party. They pledged to bring more supporters into the APC fold in the months ahead.
