‘2027! Together We Rise’: Oyo APC Youth Unites Party Leaders, Stakeholders, Others As Summit Holds Today

In a bold move towards consolidating Alhaji Olayide Abas-led Oyo APC Executives’ peace and unity agenda and revitalising unity within the progressive bloc in the state, the Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the watch of Prince John Aremu is excited to host a transformative youth summit today, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Civic Centre, Idi Ape, Ibadan, starting at 9:00 AM.
Chaired by the influential youth leader and student union veteran, Mogaji Abiola Oyeyemi, the summit aims to strengthen bonds, rebuild trust, and chart a new strategic course for the party. This initiative is closely aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising inclusion, equity, and solidarity.
The summit’s theme, “Oyo State APC: Today and Tomorrow,” offers a platform for genuine reflection, dynamic dialogue, and actionable solutions designed to reposition the party for electoral victory.

As progressively planned, Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi (CON) will serve as the keynote speaker, while the panel will feature distinguished leaders including Hon. Dapo Lam Adeshina, Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, Aare Saheed Olayiwola Lekan-Raji, Dr Wasiu Rufai and Hon. Moremi Ojudu.

Expected attendees at the event include notable figures such as former First Lady of Oyo State Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi; Minister of Power Chief Bayo Adelabu; FIRS Chairman Dr Zach Adelabu; former Senate Leader Oloye Teslim Folarin; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN); and Senators Fatai Buhari, Sharafadeen Alli, and Yunus Akintunde, along with Barr. Akeem Agbaje and Prof. Adeolu Akande, among several others.
According to the planning committee, this summit transcends mere assembly; it is a declaration of unity, heralding the end of division and the dawn of collaboration, shared vision, and purposeful leadership. For Oyo APC to reclaim its former glory and electoral strength, unity is not merely a choice—it is an imperative.
“Despite being the largest political party in Oyo State, the APC has faced a series of challenging electoral defeats, primarily due to internal discord. Since 2019, the party has been on the outskirts of gubernatorial power—not due to a lack of popular support, but because of persistent factionalism, weakened internal unity, and missed opportunities for collective action.
“With renewed unity in Oyo APC, the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) now faces a growing concern, as a united Oyo APC signals an impending shift from the Agodi government house and their imminent defeat in 2027.
