40th Day Fidau: Someone Like Abiola Ajimobi Only Comes Once In A Millennium – Oyo State Progressive Parliamentarians .
The executive committee and entire members of Oyo State Progressive Parliamentarians (1999-till date) have described the immediate past Governor of Oyo State , Late Sen. Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi as a God-sent Messiah and Genius who only comes once in a generation . This was contained in a condolence message jointly signed by Hon. Ibraheem Bolomope, Chairman, Hon. Alli Sikiru, Secretary and Hon. Olaleru John , PRO of the forum, which was made available to AFRICANO TRUMPETERS NEWSPAPER .
In a statement issued yesterday by the Executive Committee of the Parliamentarians, they said Ajimobi, who once represented Oyo South Senatorial District before he was elected for two consecutive terms as Executive Governor and later became Deputy National Chairman of All Progressive Congress(APC) Party would be missed by the people of the pacesetter state and the progressive political family across the country .
According to the executive committee, Oyo State was lucky to have had him and the state may not likely to see someone like him in the nearest future . The people of Oyo will always remember His Excellency for his indelible and numerous achievements over which the people rewarded him as the first governor to be re-elected in the history of our dear State.
The Executive, on behalf of Oyo state progressive parliamentarians added that the former governor’s sudden death would also be felt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the local, state as well as national levels, especially at a time the party has called for all hands to put on deck to steady its sail”.
The Oyo State Progressive Parliamentarians condoled once again with the family, friends, and political associates of the late former governor and prayed for the repose of their boss’ soul.
“We are still very much touched and deeply saddened by his sudden death and there is no doubt that “Oga” was the architect of modern Oyo whose legacy would last long in the heart of many Nigerians “.
“Unarguably, our Leader, Late Abiola Ajimobi was a strong pillar in the progressive fold. Not only that, he was a dedicated leader that left his footprints in the sand of time in Oyo State when he served as governor for good eight years, making him the longest-serving Governor of the state to date .”
“We deeply appreciate Almighty God for his life. Our Leader lived a fulfilled life, a life that was well spent and had served the good people of Oyo State diligently and patriotically”.
The Progressive Parliamentarians said, “our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the good people and government of Oyo State, and the country as a whole, especially the larger APC family”.
“We therefore pray that God Almighty Allah will grant him ALJANNAH FIDAOUS and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss”, they prayed .
