5th Remembrance: Rest On, Our Valued Leader, Benefactor – G-68 Pays Tribute to Late Gov Ajimobi

The forum of former local council vice chairmen in Oyo State, elected during the administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, now known as ‘Oyo State Former Vice Chairmen G-68’, has commemorated the fifth anniversary of the passing of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the late state’s governor.

Gov. Ajimobi, who served from 2011 until 2019, is remembered as a transformative figure in Oyo State’s political landscape.

In a heartfelt statement released today in Ibadan, the tribute was jointly signed by the forum’s Chairman, Hon. (Chief) Ademola Olawale ‘AGBADEMO’, and Secretary Hon. Jacob Akintola, JP. The message was disseminated to the media by the G-68’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Monsuru Akintunde Adeyemo (Socrates).

The statement reflected on Gov. Ajimobi’s significant contributions to the state, highlighting his visionary leadership and enduring legacy. “Our dear leader, architect of modern Oyo State and legendary figure of all times, Senator Abiola Ajimobi! You came, you saw, and you conquered. Your footprints are indelible on the sands of time, and you extraordinarily transformed Oyo State,” it read.

The G-68 members expressed pride in Gov. Ajimobi’s achievements, describing him as a seasoned administrator and charismatic leader whose policies and initiatives laid the groundwork for the state’s growth. They emphasised that even five years after his transition to the great beyond, his influence remains palpable across various sectors in Oyo State.

“Today, we remember you with deep respect and gratitude for your service. Your vision and dedication to the welfare of the people will always inspire future leaders. Adieu, Iconic Leader.” The group submitted

As people of Oyo State reflect on Gov. Ajimobi’s legacy, commendations on his contributions to infrastructure development, education reform, and economic growth go on and continue to shape the political discourse in the state.
