A Call for Constructive Engagement and Unity Within Oyo APC | By Azeez Oloyo

A Call for Constructive Engagement and Unity Within Oyo APC | By Azeez Oloyo.

In response to recent statements made by Southwest Coordinator, Muyiwa Odubiyi and Woman Leader Abosede Ogungbayi of the All Progressives Congress Grassroot Movement, I would like to address a few points and emphasize the importance of fostering unity and constructive engagement for the betterment of our society and the nation as a whole.

First and foremost, I firmly believe that power ultimately comes from God and not from human manipulation or name-calling. Seeking political patronage should be based on integrity, honesty, and a genuine desire to serve the people, rather than manipulating events or resorting to blackmail. It is essential to approach political endeavors with a sincere dedication to the principles that our party stands for.

In reference to Dr. Azeez Adedutan’s accusations against Senator Teslim Folarin regarding the events that unfolded during the party’s congress on October 30 and the gubernatorial primary. It was a keen contest between five (5) candidates, but Adeduntan lost out because he does not have connections with party men. I would like to remind him of his own actions. Immediately after the end of the Ajimobi administration, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan was seen lobbying for an appointment from Governor Seyi Makinde, thereby undermining the party that had provided him with a platform and supported him throughout his political career.

I firmly believe that Nigeria needs individuals who can add value and contribute to the development of various sectors of the nation. Instead of engaging in divisive tactics or dwelling on past grievances, we encourage Dr. Azeez Adeduntan to redirect his efforts towards constructive engagement and positively contributing to the development of his community. It is important to recognize the impact made by former officeholders and evaluate the benefits they have brought to their communities. He is more of a liability to any party than he is to himself; no one can boast of being a beneficiary of his good will in any way.

Rather than advocating for the dissolution of the present executive committee and the rebranding of the Oyo APC, we urge all members to consider fostering unity and working towards strengthening the party from within. It is through internal collaboration and solidarity that we can achieve our shared goals and effectively serve the people of Oyo State.

In conclusion, we call upon the Presidency, the National Secretariat, and the State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to address the conduct of Dr. Azeez Adeduntan and assess his continued membership in the party. Dr. Azeez Adeduntan has a history of undermining party unity and has shown a lack of commitment to the party’s principles. Before the just-concluded general election, he was seen meeting with PDP members countless times at the Osofi compound in Oja’ba, Ibadan.
He was meant to vote in Unit 001, Ward 1 of Ibadan South West LG, but during the presidential and national assembly elections, he did not come to vote, which raises questions about his claim of working for the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. How then can you claim to have worked for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu? He is only seeking reward without contributing; during the gubernatorial and state assembly elections, he did not only vote against APC. He was seen dancing around Ward 1 with PDP members and derogating APC members. It is imperative for the APC to uphold its values and ensure that all members adhere to the party’s mission.
