Adamasingba: During First Match After Remodelling, Water-logged Pitch Hinders Game

Adamasingba: During First Match After Remodelling, Water-logged Pitch Hinders Game.

In a surprising turn of events that has taken viewers and observers by surprise, the water-logged status of the newly remodelled Lekan Salami stadium has hindered the first 15 minutes of football in the international friendly match ongoing between the Shooting Star Sports Club and NK Tabor, OYOINSIGHT.COM reported.

The football stadium was commissioned just this evening after it was remodelled with a total of N5 billion by the Seyi Makinde led administration.

However, as players of the two teams began to exchange passes, the pool of water, logged in various parts, hindered the flow of the game.

The waterlogged status has raised questions and begin to draw attention from residents of the state over the quality of work done on the multi billion dollar project.

Fisayo Soyombo, an award winning journalist, in a post on his Facebook page, likened the pitch to a pool.

“The rains have exposed the lie that this much-vaunted ‘Remodelled Adamasingba Stadium’ is. The pitch looks like a pool; I pity the players. If in doubt, just tune to Channels TV,” Soyombo wrote.

“A N5.3bn project without a pitch that can withstand the rains? It’s all a sham. What a shame,” he added.
