Adelabu’s New Mansion Allegation: Ignore Sahara Reporters’ Fake News – Hon David Ogunwale David Tells Nigerians

In a recent radio appearance, Hon. David Ogunwale, a seasoned politician from Oke-Ogun and former Vice Chairman of Atisbo Local Government, urged Nigerians to disregard what he termed “fake news” regarding a mansion allegedly built by the Minister of Power, Chief Adelabu.
Ogunwale vehemently rejected claims made by Sahara Reporters, describing the report as “unfounded, malicious, mischievous, defamatory and frivolous, and aimed at tarnishing Adelabu’s reputation.
Ogunwale clarified that the mansion project began in November 2021 and was completed by August 2023—before Adelabu’s appointment as Minister of Power in September 2023.

Sahara Reporters had circulated a viral video suggesting that the minister was living an extravagant lifestyle funded through corrupt means, alleging that the mansion was completed during his tenure. Ogunwale insisted that such claims stem from political opponents seeking to undermine the minister’s integrity. “This mansion was completed before he assumed office. Ignore the critics who are unable to match Chief Adelabu’s accomplishments,” he stated.

Ogunwale expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Adelabu as a minister, highlighting the power minister’s efforts to enhance the power sector in Oyo State. “Chief Adelabu has been working tirelessly to support the Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and will undoubtedly revolutionize the power sector,” he stated.
Ogunwale also emphasised that he is a recognised investor in real estate, agriculture, and hospitality, with projects throughout Ibadan and beyond.“He completed this project before his appointment. He only moved in this year due to work schedules. The attention arose after a viral video featuring his hosting of Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma during a campaign event,” Ogunwale explained.
Additionally, Ogunwale noted that he has lived at the same location since 2010, when he unveiled the original structure during his tenure as a senior banking and finance executive. The current property represents a redevelopment of that original house to meet the demands of his political role.
“Everyone knows Chief Adelabu’s long-standing investments in hospitality and real estate, which have significantly contributed to job creation. Sahara Reporters’ publication is a failed attempt to discredit him and, by extension, undermine President Tinubu’s administration.” He called on the media outlet, Sahara Reporters, to retract the misleading report, warning that failure to do so may lead to legal action.
