Adeolu Akande, Seyi Makinde, Others Receive Awards.
Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Professor Adeolu Akande and other eminent personalities have been confered with awards of meritorious service by the Federal College of Education (Special),Oyo .
Among the awardees are Governors of Oyo and Bornu states.
The award which was held at the 17th convocation of the College on Thursday had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life.
Professor Akande in a remark on behalf of the recipients acknowledged the positive contributions of the College to nation building especially in the training of teachers and people with special needs.
While thanking the Governing council and the management of the institution for the honour done on the recipients, Professor Akande assured that the award would propel them to do more for the society. According to him,”life is about service. It is whatever we give back to the society that will outlive everyone of us”.
Other recipients of the award are Alhaji Jimoh Abdulwasiu Adebisi, Sir Olusegun Adeyemi Adekunle,OON, Dr (Mrs)Wasilla Shittu-Titilola and Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye among others.
The occasion was graced by the three senators representing Oyo state, Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari (North), Dr Yunus Akintunde (Central) and Oloye Sarafadeen Alli (South).
