Adieu, Our Valued Leader—Adedayo Adeniyi Pays Tribute to Late Oyo APC Chair, Omodewu
Honourable Adedayo Nurudeen Adeniyi, the 2024 All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate in Ibadan North Local Government, has expressed shock and sadness over the sudden demise of the party chairman, Barrister Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, as a heavy blow and a huge loss not only to the party but to the entire Oyo State and Nigeria.
The Otu-born lawyer, Omodewu, reportedly died in the late hours of yesterday in the United States, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness since November 2024, even as he kept in touch with friends, associates, and most Oyo APC stakeholders until he breathed his last on Sunday. He was 61 years old.
In a condolence message, Hon. Adedayo Adeniyi mourned and described Omodewu, who served in various ministries as a commissioner between 2011 and 2019 in the two-term administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, as a phenomenal politician and charismatic leader.
“A big tree has fallen, and a big vacuum has surfaced in our party (APC). Our late chairman was a symbol of humility, generosity, and empathy.” Adeniyi hailed.
“While I commiserate with Oyo APC faithful, executives, leaders, stakeholders, national and state assembly members, the federal government appointees President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and our National Chairman, I pray God to grant him eternal rest and give members of his immediate family, friends, and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” Oyo APC stated.
