Our attention has been drawn to a recent online publication by Folu Kehinde Ojutalayo who was a disgruntled former chairman of the caucus. We could have ignored this notorious act of desperation by the disgraced chairman but we felt now is the time to put a halt to him and his cohorts irresponsible actions.

A programme was duly put together by the EXCO of the APC UK South West States for us to reflect and interact on the issue of June 12 and it was tagged “June 12: The Road to Immortalization”. Several activists and politicians in the All Progressives Congress Party in Nigeria were contacted including distinguished Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters to address Nigerians in the UK on June 12 2020. The executives narrowed it down to Senator Ojudu and the invitation was extended to him, to which he accepted. Distinguished Senator Babafemi Ojudu is a statesman and individual of impeccable character with genuine progressive traits and as a foot soldier of democracy.

Not long after the invitation was sent to distinguished Senator Ojudu, the likes of Folu Ojutalayo and his gang of power grabbers started their campaign of calumny against the persons of Senator Ojudu and the democratically elected executives of the APC UK South West. It will be proper at this junction to call the attention of well meaning Nigerians especially the All Progressives Congress family worldwide as well as the south west leaders to the activities of Folu Ojutalayo and his flock of usurpers. Ojutalayo was (S)elected as the chairman in August 2010 without election, the then chairman stepped down for him due to his fake clout which he used in deceiving every members present at the meeting and he has since then posed as a dictator with nothing to show for his chairmanship for the 9 years that he led the group.

Ojutalayo deceived the members of the caucus for 9 years, he never contributed a dime to the development, every time a meeting was called he turned up late, his punctuality at meetings was horrendous. A few times he had held the whole caucus to a ransome, failing to call or attend any meeting called because of flimsy excuse of being out of the country, at some point up to 19 months. Members were fed up with his unprogressive stance, he was called to order but he continued with his lackadaisical attitude and started reporting members to the leaders in Nigeria. The group was left for dead as it remained morribound for 4 years. When the State Leaders and other executives called for a meeting, he deliberately did not turn up knowing that the issue of congress would be raised as he continued his usual pattern of playing cat and mouse.

In June 2019, at the south west stakeholders meeting chaired by the then Ekiti State APC chairman, Dr. Orimaye, it was decided that a congress should be held on the ground of Article 17 of the APC Constitution as amended under the tenure of office clause 1 and 2. The congress was fixed for Saturday 10th of August 2019. Another stakeholder meeting took place to agree on the modalities of the congress and it was chaired by Folu Ojutalayo’s deputy Chairman (Otunba Ayo Balogun) and was highly represented by all south west states executives and members. At the meeting, the Ojutalayo led executives were dissolved.

The APC UK South West congress held on the 10th of August 2019 under the leadership of the national chairman of the APC UK Dr. Philip Idaewor who is also the chairman of all the NEC recognised diaspora chapters as empowered by the APC NEC to be able to conduct and inaugurate other caucuses in his chapter, United Kingdom. This was done with the support of all chairmen of South West states caucuses in the UK, Lagos State APC UK Tayo Sodeinde, Ogun State APC UK Barrister Dapo Oduwole, Oyo APC UK Hon. Kola Seidu, Ekiti APC UK Dr. Orimaye, Ondo – Chief Adeyeye and Osun State APC UK Leaders, Jerry Adetona, Hon. Felix Adejumo, Pastor Mrs Apoeso, Madam Kemi Asomuyide and our leaders in APC South West Nigeria were notified.
The congress ratified the dissolution of the Ojutalayo led executives and went ahead to elect 18 new executives for the caucus under the leadership of Hon. Muyiwa Adesua. In the last 10 months, the new executives have achieved more than what he did in the last 10 years.

Folu Kehinde Ojutalayo is advised to wake up and smell the coffee, the train of the APC UK South West has since departed and moved to the next level. The era of sit tightism and self imposition is over, the voice of the members are being heard. Be reminded that most of the usurpers and political jobbers that you work with have recently been organising dubious Zoom virtual meetings with notable political office holders. The latter are stylishly being scammed, and very soon the cat will be let out of the bag. They are not what they claimed, they are Hushpuppies in camouflage.

When you (Folu Ojutalayo) were given the opportunity on a platter you remained clueless for years without any known achievement but now only roaming about with a stale title. We challenge you to call a meeting of state chairmen and stakeholders of the South West States in the UK.
We call on our leaders and well meaning APC party members world over to be wary of these impostors, hypocrites and corrupt elements fraudulently parading themselves as true representatives of APC UK South West States.
