AF Kobiowu Colloquium : Surveyors Address Challenges of Digital Innovation in Land Surveying

Federation of Oyo State Students Union(FOSSU), Federal School of Surveying(FSS), Chapter has organized first ever ” Surv. (Prince) AF Kobiowu Colloquium” in honour of Surv. (Prince) Aderemi F Kobiowu, the Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors(NIS), Oyo State Chapter and a leading figure in the Surveying industry .

The colloquium which was used to discuss and address the “PANACEA TO THE CHALLENGES OF DIGITAL INNOVATION IN LAND SURVEYING PROFESSION” by the invited Guest Speakers both of whom are experienced hands and seasoned professionals in the industry ; the Honourable Member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Surv. (Hon.) Dele Adeola and the lecturer from the Department of Surveying and Geo-informatics, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Surv. Adeyemo Kolawole Abeeb.

Among the challenges of digitalization in land surveying addressed are;
Technological transformation of land surveying techniques, paradox of modern technologies in surveying, new land survey – powered by technology among others.

In attendance are ; Rector of Federal School of Surveying Oyo, Surv. (Dr.) Dupe Nihinlola Olayinka, Surveying and Geo informatics HOD, Federal School of Survey, Surv. Felix Iyiola (mnis), APPSN Chairman, Oyo State Chapter in person of Surv.(Otunba) Oguntade Ademola,
Former NIS Osun State Chapter chairman, Surv. Adelakun (fnis),

current serving Oyo State House of Assembly member ,Hon. Surv. Dele Adeola, Oyo State students among other dignitaries .

In his welcome address, the honouree and icon of celebration, Surv. Aderemi F. Kobiowu, Oyo State NIS Chairman and a seasoned professional in the survey sector appreciated the organizer of the program, encouraged Oyo State students to have focus, thanks the guest lecturers and all other attendees of the program.
