AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Delivered Lessons on Unity – Barr Agbaje.
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, has lauded the efforts of the Super Eagles at the just concluded AFCON tournament.
Despite the team falling short to Ivory Coast at the last hurdle, the APC chieftain hailed them for their sterling performances in the course of the tournament, which, he said, typified the resilient Nigerian spirit.
“I must commend the Super Eagles for their performance at the just-concluded AFCON tournament. Their resilience and doggedness are a clear reflection of the “Can-Do” Nigerian spirit. They deserve our commendation; they fought a good fight, they went, they saw, and they made a loud statement audible to the whole of Africa. For this, I say congratulations. Indeed, sports and football in particular have yet again proven to be a unifying factor in Nigeria. This was evident in how Nigerians rallied behind the Super Eagles regardless of religious divides, ethnic diversities, and political affiliations. As one indivisible unit and as one country, we rallied support and cheered the Super Eagles to continuous victories.
“Our darling Super Eagles showed us what is possible if we can set aside our differences to work together in unity for the progress of our dear country. Indeed, they taught us a lesson of unity. Our diversity is our uniqueness as a nation, while our unity is our strength that we must put to use if we are to fulfil our potential as a great nation.
