Africa Day : OFAB Celebrates African Heroes , Mobilizes for Prosperous , United Africa
Africa Day (formerly African Freedom Day and African Liberation Day) is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963. It is celebrated in various countries on the African continent, as well as around the world. The organisation was transformed into the African Union on July 9, 2002 in Durban, South Africa, but the holiday continues to be celebrated on 25 May.
An illustrious son of Oyo State from Ibarapa land and well known philanthropist, Asiwaju Olawuyi Folarin Alao popularly called OFAB as Afrocentric thinker has used the occasion of this year May 25 Africa Day to celebrate the past and present African heroes and also used it to mobilize for more prosperous and united Africa .
OFAB used the avenue to intensify campaign against ravaging COVID-19 pandemic popularly called Coronavirus by encouraging social distancing, personal hygiene and staying safe .
