AGIDIGBO FM: Dr Yunus Akintunde Sponsors Children for Christmas Fun Fair – Carnival, Commissions Solar Lights(PHOTOS).

As part of his ceaseless efforts to ensure betterment of life for the people of the State, the candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr Yunus Abiodun Akintunde has sponsored 500 less privileged children for the celebration of Agidigbo FM Children’s Christmas Party Funfair and Carnival.

The former Commissioner for Works in the state, Dr Akintunde also commissioned 15 solar lights that he facilitated for the radio station and its environ in the events tagged ‘Yunus Akintunde Day’, today 22 December at Rainbow Junction, along Iwo Road – Ojoo expressway, Ibadan.

While commenting, the Chairman Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, revealed that,”I was surprised when I saw people digging the land for the installation of the solar lights across this area. It is very rare for politicians to fulfill promises that is why I was surprised and it prompted me to give him the acronym “Tana-tana Yunusi, Tan-tan Yunusi”. Some people put others in darkness but Yunus is bringing light to the people. Residents of this area believe that the establishment of Agidigbo FM Radio Station will bring prosperity to their environment. They appreciated it because it is not only Agidigbo FM that is benefiting from these projects. The residents also benefited. When we were celebrating this solar light the residents were praying for Dr Yunus Akintunde. One does not need to be stressing oneself on Yunus Akintunde,. People know what is going on. They will surely vote for him. On behalf of Agidigbo FM and its environment, we really appreciate him. I believe you will do more when you get elected”, he added.

In his remarks, the Media Magnate, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Abdul-Ganeey popularly known as Mr GRA, noted that “Everyone here presents should be grateful to God that blessed us with Dr Yunus Akintunde, a fantastic person that is not in any political position, using his influence to make people enjoy comfort.

When Mr Oriyomi Hamzat was interviewing Mr GRA, he told Dr Yunus Akintunde that “If what you have been doing for the people is what you are going to do when you become a senator, it is okay by me”.

Continuing, “Dr Yunus Akintunde fulfilled the promise he made to Agidigbo FM on a program anchored by Mr Oriyomi Hazmat within 2 days. Every night, the radio station and its environment are flooded with lights. He has also facilitated projects for Nigeria Union of Journalists (Oyo State Chapter) and he has been facilitating indispensable projects within Oyo Central Senatorial District and across the State to large extent. We urge the people of Egbeda, Ona ara, Oluyole, Lagelu, Akinyele, Oyo East, Oyo West, Atiba, Afijio, Ogo Oluwa and Surulere to vote for Dr Yunus  Akintunde as Oyo Central Senator come 2023 under the platform of all Progressives Congress (APC).” He canvased.

While responding, Dr Yunus Akintunde lauded the congregants and stated that,”The day I  promised these solar lights, they were not available, but it is good to have a good mind. GRA and others can bear my witness. Someone called me that some solar lights are available, I should come and take it to the people I promised since he is not using his own and he does not want the lights to be useless at the moment. He asked for mine in return. The person didn’t listen to the program but someone that recorded it sent it to him. Actually, The ones I want to bring are not as many as these but he asked me to take them all to this area. I facilitated this project based on immense Goodwill. God that sees our efforts will elevate us to a higher position. I have been serving people, providing infrastructures, electricity, and giving them water. I believe I can initiate laws that will help in electricity distribution and enhancement of the security system of my people, and which will in turn make agricultural productivity efficient. Not every child comes from rich homes. There are some people that are not privileged to have such privilege. I have been in their position before and I had experienced how you will feel when your mates pay a certain amount of money to attend a father Christmas party. It is not for their parents but for the children. They will be happy even when they are not talking and their spirits will be praying for me.

Dr Akintunde enjoined everyone to vote for all APC Candidates in the forthcoming general elections. He commissioned the solar lights project in the name of APC National Chairman, Senator Adamu Adamu, State Chairman, Hon Isaac Omodewu, Gubernatorial Candidate Senator Teslim Folarin and a host of others.

In attendance were Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite (APC State Secretary), Hon Abiodun Adeyemo Biddy, Hon Taiwo Okunlola, Ward Chairmen, Ward Women Leaders, Yunus Door to Door group, party members among other dignitaries.
