Ajimobi’s Demise : Oyo Councillors Forum Mourns , Pays Tribute .

The Association of Councillors forum, Oyo State Chapter has mourned the death of former governor of Oyo State , Senator Abiola Ajimobi who died in a private hospital in Lagos yesterday after a brief illness .

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon Adesokan , described Ajimobi’s death as a monumental loss to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The Chairman described Ajimobi as a humble servant of the people, a compassionate leader, a politician whose actions were guided by the fear of God and a revered statesman whose impacts positively affected the people he served.

“He was 70 years old. He will be sorely missed. While on earth, he affected so many lives positively. His footprints in the sand of history can never be forgotten especially in Oyo State where he governed for eight good years”.

“He was known as the builder of modern Oyo State . His reign witnessed a great and tremendous transformation while it lasted”.

Adesokan noted that Ajimobi ’s tenure in Oyo State between May 2011 and May 2019 was remarkable in execution of life changing policies and projects .

He described Ajimobi as a disciplined and selfless party man and one of the leading lights of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the country .

Adesokan emphasized that Ajimobi’s death has robbed the state and party of a wise counsel . He noted that the vacuum created by the loss will be difficult to fill.

The chairman urged the family of the deceased to take solace in the fact that Gov. Ajimobi led a fulfilled life and left legacies of service, statesmanship, peacemaking and service to humanity behind.

“Our revered leader has gone to be with his maker. We lost a refined statesman and a man of honour. We are however consoled by the fact He lived a good life and left behind a legacies of honour and good name behind . May his soul rest in perfect peace”, Adesokan commiserated .
