The names of the All Progressives Congress, APC, gladiators in Oyo state who are to meet with the Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee(CECPC), of the party, and Governor of Yobe State, Mala Mai Buni, have surfaced.
Invitation letters/messages have been sent to the gladiators and they are former Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Deputy Governor, Moses Alake Adeyemo, outgoing Party Chairman, Akin Oke, former Senator, Adesoji Akanbi, Third Term Senator, Teslim Folarin, Second Term Senator, Fatai Buhari, 2019 Oyo APC Guber Candidate, Bayo Adelabu, Oyo Guber Hopeful, Joseph Tegbe, Legal Luminary, Niyi Akintola, former Senator, Ayo Adeseun, Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, Former Communication Minister, Bayo Shittu, NCC Boss, Adeolu Akande, RMFAC Commissioner, Bimbo Kolade, Oluyole Rep, Tolu Sadipe, Third Term Rep, Segun Odebunmi, CECPC Member and Ibadan North Rep, Musiliu Akinremi, Oyo Rep, Akeem Adeyemi, APC Chieftain, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle among others.
The invitation message reads, thus; “I am directed by H.E. (Hon.) Mai Mala Buni to invite you for a Stakeholders’ Meeting at the Party National Secretariat (Buhari House). The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 4th November, 2021 at 1pm prompt. Abubakar Suleiman, Director, Administration.”
The invitees, to the parley, today, in Abuja, are drawn from all tendencies in Oyo APC, and the aims, as reliably gathered, are to resolve the crises rocking the party, since last Saturday, after the party’s controversial congress
The meeting became important following reactions and counter reactions that have trailed last week controversial congress of the party in the state.
Africano Trumpeters Newspaper recalled that Chief Akin Oke had, few hours to the congress, raised alarm of falsification of the delegates’ list, calling for the postponement of the exercise. But Gambo Lawan, chairman of the congress, turned deaf ear to the allegation and went on with the congress.
Despite being held hostage for almost 12 hours, Gambo asked his secretary and few members, who were lucky to have escaped from the protesters who barricaded roads leading to their Jericho hotel, to go on with the exercise.
