Akinola sympathises with Hope Junction Fire Victims, Donates N2M Relief
Compassionate Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, who is aspiring to represent Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, has sympathised with the business owners around Hope Junction, Alakia Road, Ibadan affected by the inferno caused by a yet-to-be-known factor.
Akinola, during his visits to the scene, sadly expressed his deepest sympathy for the various businesses the inferno destroyed during this period of time.
While speaking further at the scene, the Abuja-based businessman and Ibadan-born chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said, “Though we are yet to know the causes of this fire incident, what we are seeing here is more than what we can hurriedly quantify—that is, to establish the number of businesses that were razed down by this fire incident.” He said.
“It is a sad one, but we will implore those affected to take solace in God. With the present state of Nigeria economically, this is a huge blow to all. We are very concerned by this occurrence. We grieve with you all, and we will do the needful by supporting the various businesses affected.
Citing the havoc caused by the fire outbreak on his visit, many shops with valuables, an eatery, confectionery stores, and a bakery were completely razed.
The House of Representatives hopeful also advised that the affected people should form a committee that will take inventory of the lost properties and businesses so as to make it easy for any intending donor to know the extent of the support they need.
In advancing his humanitarian service, Akinola donated the sum of 2 million naira as relief for the affected business owners.
