Senator Yunus Akintunde Pays tributes to Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Enjoins Progressive Family to Unite Further, Sustain His Great Legacies.

At an emotion laden event which attracted families and notable political associates of Late Governor Abiola Ajimobi held today at the Ajimobi’s family residence to commemorate the 4th year anniversary of his passage into eternal rest, Senator Yunus Akintunde, the Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District joined in paying glowing tributes to the former Governor of Oyo State.

In a release by Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Yunus Akintunde, he also admonished the progressive political family, especially, members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to put aside their individual differences and join hands together towards lifting up Oyo State beyond the present state to the level that both the living and past heroes of our democracy like Senator Ajimobi would be proud of.

“I can confidently affirm late Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s passion for Nigeria and Oyo State in particular. The only way we can truly celebrate him is for us as his political associates and followers to be committed to his lofty ideas and vision for unparalleled and spectacular growth and development of Oyo State while setting the pace for other States of the federation to emulate. That was his dream and he was very passionate about it till he passed on”.

“Many of the critics of Senator Ajimobi later began to appreciate him after his demise because they really did not understand his unwavering commitments and genuine intentions to lay the foundation for rapid and sustained development and growth of Oyo State in all ramifications which required him to make several radical initiatives in his capacity as the helmsman in government”.

“I worked closely with him in different capacities within the cabinet as a Commissioner and Executive Assistant and we ensured that we all joined in the efforts to achieve his aspirations without any regret about our commitment and engagements in governance”.

“He was a great leader who knew how to attract quality minds, engage in robust intellectual and strategic approach towards achieving set objectives with zero tolerance for excuses or failure. Senator Ajimobi was a finicky and meticulous person paying maximum attention to details”

“We need to emulate his virtues which for me are what endeared many of us to him and we have fond memories of great moments working with him during his reign as the Governor of Oyo State”

“I’m personally grateful that our paths crossed with several others who served with him as Governor of Oyo State. The gathering today at this event is a clear evidence of our closely knitted relationship with him as our leader.

“I pray that Almighty Allah will continue to grant him Aljannah Fridaus and sustain his family, especially his wonderful wife, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, their lovely children and family members who have continued to organize programs and sustained the great legacies of our beloved leader.

“I am using this occasion to plead with the rest of us he left behind to join hands together in rebuilding the progressive political family in Oyo State, we have all it takes in capacity and drive to surpass the expectations of our past heroes of democracy and truly position Oyo State as the Pacesetter State indeed”. He concluded.
