The Akinyele Fiesta, a community development initiative, marks its one-year anniversary today, June 30, 2024.
Convened by Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye, the fiesta has made significant impacts in Akinyele Local Government, fostering unity, empowerment, and progress.
In the past year, the Akinyele Fiesta has:
- Facilitated a borehole for Iroko land, commissioned by Oniroko of Iroko land, Oba Opeola Ismail
- Organized a gala cup U13 football competition, symposium, trade fare, medical check-up, and live music concert
- Empowered youths with Ankara craft and photography training, with certificates presented
- Collaborated with various organizations, including Moshood Ajadi Foundation, Mecaf Foundation Sports Consultancy, and Association of Professional Australia (APA)
- Received awards and recognition for its humanitarian services
Future plans include:
- Influencing street light installation in suburban areas
- Establishing modern recreational centers for senior citizens
- Facilitating vocational and educational training for youths
- Collaborating with farmers for affordable seedlings and fertilizers
