Akinyele Youth Forum Commends OYHA for Proactive Motion on Behavioural Change
….AYF Plans Implementation of Behavioural Change Handbook Across Akinyele Local Government
In a resounding show of support and commendation, the Akinyele Youth Forum (AYF) has hailed the Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA) for its proactive motion on behavioural change.
The motion, raised during a recent session presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi, garnered praise from AYF for its potential to engender positive transformation among the youth.
Prior to the motion’s discussion, AYF had meticulously laid out plans for its implementation, signalling a dedicated commitment to effecting change within the community. Led by its President, Mr. Paul Adegoke, and supported by prominent stakeholders such as the Moshood Ajadi Foundation and Paulhimself Global Ventures, AYF had already devised a comprehensive strategy.
At the heart of their initiative lies the “Handbook on Behavioural Change for Secondary Schools,”a meticulously compiled guide crafted by Alhaji Amao Ogungbade and other committees. This handbook, coupled with 1000 copies of souvenirs and 500 copies of exercise books, is slated for distribution across 35 public schools in Akinyele Local Government.
The vision behind this endeavour is clear: to nurture a generation of responsible and conscientious citizens who will serve as ambassadors of positive change. AYF recognised the critical role education plays in shaping attitudes and behaviours from a young age, and they are determined to sow the seeds of transformation through this initiative.
During the assembly session, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, representing Ibadan North Constituency 2, eloquently articulated the pressing need for attitudinal sensitization among students. His passionate plea redirected focus to the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility and ownership among pupils towards government amenities.
The motion itself, championed by Hon. Dawood Olalere and seconded by Hon. Babalola, underscores the collective commitment towards fostering a culture of respect and accountability within the educational system. Hon. Babajide’s call for collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Education and Information further emphasised the holistic approach required to effect lasting change.
In essence, the commendation extended by AYF echoes a sentiment shared by many: that proactive measures, such as the motion on behavioural change, are instrumental in shaping the future of Oyo State. Through concerted efforts and strategic initiatives, stakeholders are laying the groundwork for a brighter, more prosperous tomorrow, one imbued with the values of responsibility, respect, and integrity.
