That epochal journey that started in November 1970 still continues till present and may ‘Omo Iku that death kills not’, reign long on the throne of his forefathers. Kabiesi! Your reign is efficient and it has enhanced the improvement and well being of the Yoruba nation and mankind, in general.
Kabiesi, its now five solid decades plus another, 365 days, and it still counting, Sir. Our Arch- Monarch, sir, Your time is well known for excellent transformation, upgrade of traditional institutions, on high tech level, fostering unity across boarder line, upholding Yoruba nation, strengthening cultural values, promotion of Yoruba Omoluabi ethos, and improving socioeconomic prosperities. Sir, during Your Majesty’s reign, the empire has also significantly contributed to advancing regional peace, stability and development.
Truly, destiny has an uncanny hand in the conduct and affairs of men. Alaafin Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has set records, recorded many landmark achievements, set precedence and history will forever be kind to him, for his sacrificial services to Yoruba nation and humanity in general, as the renown custodian of Yoruba, culture, values, norms and tradition.
Kabiesi, sir! It’s my prayer that may you live long and continue to reign prosperously, because your time on the throne is quite known for goodness. It gladdens my heart to recall that it is during your reign that Oyo state had a civilian governor that led for 8years. That’s unprecedented(Koseleri). You are the first Alaafin to Install two Aare Onakakanfo. You are the first Alaafin of Oyo to have married an Igbo woman or going outside the Yoruba land to get a wife. Kabiesi Iku Baba Yeye, the Oranmiyan and Sango incarnate of our time, and the 44th Alaafin of Oyo ‘Ki E Pe fun Wa Lori Apere Baba Yin’.
Kabiesi having read and researched about your ways of life via different media and sources. I came across two books you wrote titled “I will be great” and “I will become next Alaafin”. This gives me undoubting mind that I too will be great and become notable person in the journey of life. Sir, I can boldly say without fear or favour that you are a credible source of inspiration, to millions of us, who have opportunity or privilege to have come across you. I am glad that I’m one of your subjects and mentees. it’s a great joy listening to you or watching you, on screen or one on one, Kabiesi.
You are a true symbol of Yoruba culture and unity. You have taught us many great things about our history, our culture, Yoruba ethics and ways of life. I, wholeheartedly, cherish your sagacity, Kabiesi and, I , mostly, respect you, Sir. You have made us known that Culture is a principal magistrate of man’s life and I want to thank you for always being in defence of Yoruba historical heritage.
