ALAAFIN: Yorubaland Has Lost An Institution – Oyo South Senatorial Hopeful, Kolapo Kola-Daisi Pays Tribute.
The passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo into the great beyond comes with a pain and void that will be hugely felt across Yorubaland and the entire world.
He was an erudite King whose stretch of influence, wisdom and leadership transcended Oyo kingdom to every part of the world. As a custodian of our culture, Alaafin carried the tenets of Yorubaland with enviable grace and unmatched royalty.
It explained the global reverence he commanded throughout his life and his illustrious 52-year reign; and I’m sure even now in death.
Kabiyesi lived a full and impactful life, and in his passing, Yorubaland didn’t just lose a great King, but a whole institution worthy to be studied.
May Baba’s soul find eternal rest, and may God Almighty grant his immediate family, the people of Oyo Kingdom, fellow citizens of Oyo State, and all Yoruba sons and daughters, the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss;
