Alaafin’s Transition: Great Monarch Has Gone – Prince Olaide Akinremi Mourns, Prays.

The transition of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo who has joined his ancestors is an occurrence whose pain is deeply felt not only by the people of Oyo, but by all sons and daughters of Yorubaland across the world.

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III was a great and highly revered Monarch for his many distinct characteristics. He was a King with rich understanding of our culture and tradition, and he was an exemplary custodian of our Yoruba heritage.

He will be missed for the unique and progressive leadership he demonstrated, which saw to the continuous growth of Oyo town all through his 52 years of reign, as he was a man with uncommon wisdom and enviable knowledge which he readily employed in his engagement with everyone.

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III lived a proud and fulfilled life, and I join my prayers with those of other Yoruba sons and daughters on this day to pray for the repose of his soul.

May his soul find blissful and eternal rest, and may God Almighty grant his family, the people of Oyo town, Oyo State and indeed all yorubas the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, amen.

Signed;
Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban).
MHR Representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Oyo State.
