Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed deep condolences to the victims of the devastating fire that engulfed Aleshinloye Market in the late hours of Tuesday. In his message, the minister described the incident as deeply unfortunate and called for urgent measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Chief Adelabu emphasised that the recurring fire outbreaks in major markets across Ibadan and Oyo State demand immediate attention. He urged the Oyo State government to bolster the state’s fire services and consider establishing mini fire stations within key markets to enhance emergency response capabilities.

“My heart goes out to those affected by this tragic fire incident. Aleshinloye Market, being a historic and significant marketplace, deserves the collective efforts of all stakeholders to ensure its safety and preservation,” Adelabu stated.

While offering his condolences, the minister also prayed for strength and resilience for the victims to overcome their losses. He further appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to extend support to the affected individuals and businesses to help them recover swiftly from the devastation.
