Alhaja Tinuade Adigun Pays Tribute to Late Prince Ajibola Afonja

The Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Prince Ajibola Afonja, a former 1991 governorship aspirant, on the platform of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC).

In a statement issued in Ibadan, Alhaja Adigun hailed the former chairman of the First Bank of Nigeria, Prince Afonja, as a committed leader and dedicated businessman.

Adigun maintained that the former Labour Minister, Prince Afonja, was a true patriot and a selfless leader who dedicated his life to serving his town, the people, and his country at large.

Alhaja Adigun lauded Prince Afonja as a notable philanthropist and influential role model to countless people. “He was a kind and generous soul who always had a word of encouragement for those who were fortunate to meet him in life. His contributions to the development of Oyo town, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole will never be forgotten,” she added.

Prince Afonja passed away on Sunday night at the age of 82. He was a respected figure in Nigerian politics, the business world, and the financial sector.

Adigun prayed that God grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the departure of their valued patriarch and that God repose the soul of Afonja in Al-Janat Firdaus.
