An Evening of Iftar with Ajimobi’s Flory !! By Morufu Smith
An Evening of Iftar with Ajimobi’s Flory !! By Morufu Smith.
I was at Yemoja, Oluyole home of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, competently been directed and immaculately being kept by Her Excellency, Dr Mrs Florence Ajimobi, today on the invitation extended to a section of the media within the APC by Her Excellency to break fast with her. We had so much sumptuous meals to eat to our fill as we also tasted Her Excellency’s magnanimity!
Abiola Ajimobi’s palatial home has not lost its immaculate ambience as its carpet-like lush green grasses remain an important feature of the house. Apart from the physical absence of Senator Ajimobi’s graceful presence and humorous voice, Her Excellency Florence Ajimobi keeps the impeccability that’s the hallmark of late Abiola Ajimobi.
In Florence Ajimobi this evening, I see a magnificent matriarch, who, though appear still shaken by the death of her husband, is able to summon the strength to keep the impeccable legacies of her husband alive.
In Her Excellency during the parley, I see a wife who loves her deceased husband more even in death. Indeed, the best favour late Abiola Ajimobi obtained from God is having Florence Ajimobi in his life. The late Senator didn’t call Mrs Ajimobi his masterpiece of nature for nothing. That fine qualification is more relevant now that the late governor is no more.
In Mrs Florence Ajimobi I see a model mother who’s truly motherly to not only his biological children but also to hordes of youthful admirers of her late husband as everybody has tantalising things to say about Florence Ajimobi’s larger heart.
Today, I see in Mama Florence a woman who, beyond the glitz and glamour of being the first lady, assisted her husband with unceasing prayers while her husband’s 8-year reign lasted at Agodi. It’s to her credit that more women served in the government of Senator Ajimobi. It was also to her credit that a befitting anthem was developed for Oyo state.
Mrs Ajimobi does not like politics but she’s passionate about good governance. Her love for Ibadan in particular and Oyo state in general is topnotch. She exudes the aura of being more Oyo than many original citizens of Oyo state in terms of her passion for peace, tranquility and progress for the state.
For me, one particular observation about Dr Mrs Ajimobi which I so much admire is that she’s doing everything to preserve all legacies of her husband, including Islam. Everyone knows that Florence Ajimobi is more staunch as a Christian than Senator Ajimobi was as a Muslim. Yet, Her Excellency does not allow the spirit of Islam which her husband held in high esteem till he breathed his last to wane in her home. Isn’t this commendable? It’s amazing how Her Excellency is able to uphold her Christian faith while she does not jettison her late husband’s Islam.
Late Senator Ajimobi enjoyed the grace and glory of God. His home is still in one piece after his death and with the competent ways Her Excellency oversees affairs at the palatial house, peace and tranquility appear not in a hurry to leave the house.
May Allah continue to be pleased with late Abiola Ajimobi’s soul and grant Mrs Ajimobi the strength and the wisdom to continue to steer the ship of the family competently.
