APC: Akin Olajide Visits Ibadan South West LG , Continues Consultation over 2023 Oyo South Senatorial Ambition(PHOTOS).

The front line Oyo South Senatorial Hopeful, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Alhaji Waheed Akin Olajide has attended the Ibadan Southwest Local Government Meeting of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in a bid to continue his consultation over 2023 Oyo South Senatorial ambition.
It was an affectionate moment on Thursday, February 24, as the first ever meeting of the new executives of APC in the Local Government under the chairmanship of Hon. Sunday Babalola held at Baptist Secondary School, Oke Ado, Ibadan.
While addressing the Party Members, the immediate former Chairman of APC in Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Aderemi Oni, aka Oyinbo, noted that they ensured that ward and local government executives were selected based on what the party agreed on. He revealed that some lists that were submitted which did not go along with consensus were rejected.
Oni continued that,”During the selection of the Party Chairman in Ibadan South West Local Government, those that cast their vote during the process, were former House of Representatives Members, Party Leaders and other key stakeholders. What makes the new party chairman to succeed me is that he is a good successor. He has all what it takes to lead. I received a call that my ward has been disqualified, and the chairmanship position has been zone to ward 12. During my reign, Hon. Sunday Bablola progressively supported me and I also advised him to accept the chairmanship position since it has been zoned to his ward.
In his remarks, Hon Prince Adefusi, congratulated all party members in attendance. He urged them to pay last respect for the former Governors of the State, Alhaj Isiaq Ajimobi and Otunba Alao Akala since this is the first meeting after their demise. While recalling about the selection of Local Government Party Chairman, “My vote was power changer”, he said. He also prayed for the the new Party Chairman and other executives to record great success.
The former Secretary to the State Government in Oyo State and a leading Senatorial Aspirant, in the District, Alh. Akin Olajide stated that,”God didn’t create what he can’t overcome. He advised all party members to maintain peace and foster unity within the party.
On his senatorial ambition, Olajide maintained that he is out to contest, in the best interests of all party faithful.”Mine is to render quality representation and by His Grace, I will never let you down”,he assured.
Olajide urged the faithful avoid conflicts. He encouraged the New Party Chairman and his executive members to organize private prayer for the party, irrespective of the faith they profess.
Also, a notable Party Leader in the Local Government, Chief Akinade Fijabi, appreciated the Party leaders and all members in attendance. He revealed that he embarked on trip, three times to Abuja, due to the just concluded Party Congresses. He appealed to aggrieved members in attendance to be calm.
While speaking on the Local Government Congress,Chief Fijabi said,”I asked Saheed whom he wanted to support and he told me he would be throwing his weight behind Omoniyi, while I backed Babalola. Prior to the election of the Party Chairman, I assured Babalola of my support and reiterated that he would win. I urged him to reach out to other stakeholders. All Progressive Congress in Ibadan Southwest is not divided”, Chief Fijabi emphasized.
Fijabi urged party members to hold meeting with one another. He advised them to shun conflict. “National convention will determine who will carry the day”, he said.
Fijabi charged all party members to manage their respective wards perfectly. “We are not fighting in ward 1”, he assured. “God has shown me the next Governor of Oyo State”, Chief Fijabi said.
Immediately after receiving the Party Constitution, the newly elected Party Chairman in the local government, Mr Sunday Babalola appreciated all the party leaders, stakeholders and members, in attendance.
Babalola specially recognized the presence of Chief Akinade Fijabi and Alhaji Akin Olajide. He highlighted that their congregation is the authentic APC meeting and maintained that the presence of Akin Olajide, Chief Fijabi and other key stakeholders in attendance has affirmed that.
Babalola recalled that,”Votes were conducted during Late Baba Adedibu era which resulted in 114-113, but the table has now turned in Ibadan Southwest Local Government, it is now in 7-6″, he said. He urged party members to continue holding ward meeting.
“APC will win Gubernatorial election in Oyo State come 2023”, Babalola assured. He hailed Chief Akinade Fijabi who encouraged him that even if it is one vote he would emerge. He noted that there is no crisis in Ibadan Southwest APC, but just family disagreements.
Babalola urged party members to promote peace and unity. Other key stakeholders gave their respective remarks and the meeting successfully came to an end.
