Apprehension in Accord As former Council Chairmen Abandon Party for APC, Ex-Oyo ALGON Members Unite for Folarin.

Barely two days to the gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in Oyo State, three former local government chairmen in Accord Party have defected from the party and returned to the fold of All Progressives Congress(APC), in the state.

After defection, the three local government chairmen of Accord expressed their full commitments to the electoral victory of Sen. Folarin and all APC House of Assembly Standardbearers, in their various local government areas, on Saturday March 18, 2023.

This move is one of many of such since the landslide victory of the APC in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The defectors are former council boss of Saki-West LGA, Prince Adegoke Manleke and two others from Oke-Ogun zone 1 and 2.

The there chairmen were welcomed back into the progressive fold by the 2023 APC governorship candidate, Sen. Folarin during a brief meeting which took place on Wednesday, at his Oluyole residence, in Ibadan.

While speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, former Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), in the state, Bashorun Bosun Ajuwon revealed that almost all former council helmsmen are now fully in the progressive fold.

Ajuwon refuted the rumour that some former councillors have dumped the progressive party for People’s Democratic Party of Governor Seyi Makinde.”And let me use this medium to set the records straight. Oyo APC did not loose any councilor to PDP. It was Accord party that loosed their councilors to PDP. Rather, APC gains chairmen, councilors and other gladiators almost everyday, as our party remains the only party to beat and record landslide victory, come March 18, 2023. Vote Senator Teslim Folarin and all APC House of Assembly candidates, vote development and progress.

Prominent chieftains of APC and ex-council gaffers on ground to welcome the now former council chairmen of Accord Party were Hon Olumide Yakub Alli (OYA), Hon. Samuel Adegoke, Hon. Remi Adeniyi,
Hon Nathaniel, Hon. Samuel Egunjobi and others.

According political pundits and observers in the state, the ceaseless inflow of bigwigs and gladiators into the mainstream progressive party in state, means omen of victory for Sen. Folarin and all APC House of Assembly flagbearers.
