You must have heard of the arithmetic of attitude; not quite? Let us have a memory refresh:

The letters of the word ATTITUDE are A, D, E, T, I and U. According to the arithmetic table above, these letters have their numeric representations as follows;
A=1 T=20 I=9 D=4 E=5 U=21
In all, T appears 3 times. So, we have the numeric values of ATTITUDE to be 1+ (20*3) +9+21+4+5=100
Everyone wishes to have a 100% in one’s endeavours and assessments but not everyone is willing to exhibit the right attitude necessary to attain the right altitude and also maintain a cordial relationship with all men. Attitude is everything, it speaks much about an individual. I can here state that there are two basic aspects of attitude, which are: attitude towards life’s situations and attitude towards fellow humans.
In some situations, people will not be interested to know who must have been at fault. However, once they notice that we are involved and that we did not handle the situation as expected, they will be taken aback. At that instance, they will forget that we are all humans with our peculiar shortcomings. This is the more reason we need to be at our best at all times.
During my undergrad days, a lecturer gave us an assignment and mentioned that we must submit our papers by 12noon the next day. At about 11:30A.M, I arrived the campus, just coming from a journey, as I went towards the lecturer’s office, a course mate met me and said, “Iyanu, you of all people, you are just coming to submit your assignment when you should have submitted hours ago.” I was dumbfounded. All I could mutter was that it was not 12 and that I was not an angel. At that instant, controlling my displeasure was necessary because I would have ruined a lot of things if I could not control my displeasure and check my attitude altogether which includes my posture, gesture and response.
In the same vein, we must maintain the right attitude to the negative stones life throws our ways. Instead of being crushed by them, we should build beautiful and not so common castle with those stones. Alluding to a biblical statement that we should do all things as unto the Lord (Col. 3v23), we must try to maintain a positive attitude in whatever situation we find ourselves; we cannot be so sure of who is watching, testing and/or assessing us. At the end, their assessments will determine the magnitude of our connections and the altitude of our achievements.
