Bimbo Kolade Mourns Late Olubadan, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun
In a heartfelt tribute, Honourable Bimbo Kolade, the Federal Commissioner of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) from Oyo State, has mourned the passing of the revered Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun CFR (Alli Okunmade II).
Expressing shock at the sudden transition of the monarch, Kolade, founder of the Irede Political Movement, lauded Oba Balogun’s reign for its peace and developmental strides in Oyo State, particularly in Ibadanland.
“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our Royal Father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun (Alli Okunmade II),” Kolade said.
“Our late revered monarch was a father to all, deeply rooted in the culture and tradition of Ibadanland. He utilised his education, administrative acumen, political intellect, and wealth of experience during his reign to advance Ibadan Land,” he continued.
Kolade further praised the late Olubadan’s courageous and progressive ideas, emphasising that, while he will be greatly missed, his legacies will endure.
“I want to commiserate with all sons and daughters of Ibadanland and friends of the city on this deep and painful loss. Adieu to the legendary emperor of the city of warriors!” Kolade concluded.
The passing of Oba Balogun has undoubtedly left a void in the hearts of many, but his contributions to Ibadanland will forever be cherished.
