Birthday: APC Stalwart , Olaide Ere Celebrates Mum, Gives Scholarship to Indigent Students
Hon. Aremu Olaide Olalere popularly known as Ere, a stalwart of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has awarded scholarship worth 200,000 naira to 10 indigent students in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of the State in celebration of her mother’s 75th birthday.
Mother of the internationally equipped technocrat and Ibadan born politician, Madam Ibidun Odere Olalere who hailed from Ile Oniyeye of Ita-Alasa Street, Ogbomoso, Oyo-State but married to an Ibadan Warrior, Alhaji Yekini Olalere clocked 75th today , Sunday 14th June 2020.
In a statement made available to the news men , Ere said his mother remained the best thing that ever happened to him hence his decision to put smile on the faces of downtrodden in her honour.
“The 10 indigent students were picked from two secondary schools in Ibadan North East Local Government Area and the fund has been transferred to their parents electronically because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic currently ravaging the world “, Ere stated .
In the birthday homage to his mother, Ere, who was an aspirant for the House of Assembly, Ibadan North East Constituency 2 on the platform of the APC in 2019 general election, emphasized that without his mother’s supports, he would have ended up as a motor park tout or a road side mechanic in Ibadan.
In his words, “I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for all you have done to make me what I am today. Without you, I would have ended being a motor park tout or a road side mechanic. You hustled and laboured to make me what I am “.
