BIRTHDAY: Hold Your Head High, You’ve Etched Your Name In Gold – Oyo Central Senatorial Candidate, Dr Akintunde Hails APC Guber Standardbearer, Sen Folarin At 59.
Dr Yunus Akintunde, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Oyo central senatorial district in the 2023 election, has congratulated Teslim Folarin, gubernatorial candidate of the party as he clocks 59 today.
In a statement issued today, Sunday, Akintunde, who is seeking to takeover from Folarin in the red chamber, said the Asaaju Olubadan of Ibadanland is a politician everyone must study.
According to him, “I join many Nigerians in celebrating Sen. Teslim Folarin on his birthday. This is a man many don’t know. For the first time, I think the late Baba Lamidi Adedibu should be acknowledged for spotting him. He saw what many of us didn’t see. It was providence at work. At 39, he became senator. And today, he is the only three-term senator on the history of our state. He is the only person who has been senate leader from our state and southwest, Nigeria.
“As a federal lawmaker, you have displayed rare courage and I make bold to say you have represented us well. Hold your head high because you have etched your name in gold. Even your political rivals talk about the way you play your politics. You don’t leave anything to change. A very calculative politician that you are, you go into a contest well prepared.
”As you are leaving the senate for higher responsibility, I want to assure you that I will continue to consolidate on the solid foundation you have built. I will be needing your advise. I pray we celebrate your landmark 60th birthday in the government house. I am proud to be associated with you distinguished senator Teslim Folarin,” Akintunde submitted.
