BIRTHDAY: Hon Afeez Bello ‘Mabinuori’ Felicitates Power Minister, Oloye ‘Bayo Adelabu At 55

Oyo APC Chieftain, Hon. Afeez Bello Mabinuori, has felicitated with the Minister of Power and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo APC, Oloye Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, on his birthday.

While congratulating the former Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (Operations), Mabinuori wrote, “Happy birthday to a truly great personality; I wish you the most wonderful birthday celebrations. May the years ahead bring tremendous successes, achievements, and joy to your life.”

Mabinuori described Adelabu as a struggle-tested and experienced minister who has dedicated his time to strengthening the national grid, which has been one of the major challenges hindering growth in the power sector.

Bello lauded the minister for being relentless on providing stable electricity to the people of the country, which, he maintained, will soon enhance development that will shape the standard of living positively.

The 2024 Councillorship Candidate also commended the power minister for the installation of three new transformers and the erection of electricity poles across several communities in Eruwa.

Mabinuori noted that there are improvements in power generation and transmission. He hinted that power distribution needs to be attended to so that it will also record improvements like power generation and transmission. “For instance, some communities in Ibarapa, such as Igboora and Idere in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area and Ayete, Tapa and Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area, have not had electricity in the last one year, which has put the residents of the towns in total darkness.

“It was gathered that some part of Igboora did have electricity, but it might not stay more than 2 hours before it got interrupted. This was due to vegetation around the main lines. The lines are already weak, and the main lines have to be repositioned to the roadside for security purposes in order to avoid theft.

“Hon. Minister, Sir. I would love to suggest that you meet the stakeholders in the zone and engage them to know how the problem occurs, the effect of the problem, and the lasting solution that your ministry will possibly proffer, which will bring about positive results between now and December so that by the next six months or more, power restoration in some of the areas of the zone would have reached 80 percent by June 2026.

As the power minister from Oyo State, you are doing well, but just like me, Oliver Twist, who will always ask for more. The good people of Ibarapa thank you for your efforts and still want more actions geared towards stable electricity in the zone, which they believe will enhance the security of lives and properties in the region and also bring growth and development to the area. Thanks for this and others, as they look forward to accelerated efforts and proper actions on the matters.

“I wish you more fruitful years in sound health and elevation. Once again, congratulations, Sir. God bless you, Sir.

Afeez Bello Mabinuori,
Ibadan North Local Government,
Oyo State.
