Birthday: Prof Akande Felicitates With Gov Ladoja At 77.

Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande has congratulated the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Ladoja on his 77th birthday.

Professor Akande in a personal congratulatory message to the Osi Olubadan described him as a legend in the politics of Oyo State who has left his footprints in the sand of time.

Akande stated that Senator Ladoja’s contribution to the development of Nigeria and Oyo State traversed politics to include business, education, public service and even entertainment.

“Your remarkable  exploits in the field of business have been overshadowed by your towering prominence in  politics. Yet, the history of the business world in Nigeria cannot be completed without a copious reference to your enviable role particularly, in maritime, manufacturing, mining, agriculture and entertainment.

“The tremendous growth of the maritime sector in Nigeria has your bold imprint. You are a pioneer of Nigerians’ partipation in the sector long before the nation mandated local content in the sector. The manufacturing sector has your eminent contribution with investment too numerous to count. The highly successful Nollywood sector holds its growth in part to the confidence Your Excellency and a few other gifted Nigerians demonstrated with investments in the sector at a time very few businessmen gave the sector a chance to thrive. That you are one of the biggest investors in Agriculture in the country will be an understatement. Your love for agriculture and personal demonstration that it is the path to Nigeria’s greatness is a study in exemplary leadership.

Your policy of 30 -children – per – classroom remains an enviable record that very few visionary governor’s pursue across the breath and length of our country. Your spartan lifestyle in spite of your outstanding success in the business world and politics is a lesson in selfless leadership. Your respect for our traditional institution despite your university education in the western world and global exposure remains a guide for aspiring public officials in our country. Your record as a dogged fighter for the cause you believe in set you apart from the tribe of political opportunists that desecrate the Nigerian landscape.

“My prayer is that God shall grant you long life and good health so that those of us who are your mentees can continue to drink from your fountain of wisdom”, Akande lauded.
