TRIBUTE TO COMRADE KAZY @ 50
I find it extremely hard to think that it was 31yrs ago that I met this great man, great comrade and a very dear friend. We met for the very first time in 1991 and since then you have been my pillar of support, we have been through all the steps together. You were and still my great teacher. I remember how you simplified those O’Level subjects; Maths, Chemistry and Physics etc. then, and you made passing them very easy for me. You have continued the support till today.
You have also been my closest political teacher and ally since 1995 when you introduced the great idea of Marxism to me. You were not only there for me throughout my ordeal with the University of Ilorin Administration but we went through those difficult periods together. All the countless and risky journeys we made together throughout the legal battle from the High Court to the Court of Appeal, up to the Supreme Court.
I also remember in 2010, ten years after graduating and with University of Ilorin unjustly holding on to my certificate, when I told you that I want to go back to school. You asked me for the Course I want to study and I said Law, you said how do I intend to do it and I said I will start from scratch i.e from O’level since I was a pure science student. You said, if that is what I want, you give your absolute support. These were not mere words from you, you acted all those words to the last letter. Your unflinching support saw me through my L.LB programme and today the rest is history. I can go on and on.
Kazy, what have I ever done without you? I will never be able to forget all the support that you have given me. I am taking this as an opportunity to immensely thank you for all that you are to me. As you are celebrating 50yrs today, here is wishing you resilience in the revolutionary cause. As you grow older, may the distractions of this senile capitalist system find it harder to draw you off the struggle for the emancipation of the working class and the poor.  I specially thank you for being my best friend, my closest political ally and my most dependable and reliable pillar of support.
